Luc Van Steenbergen, born 1964 in Turnhout, Belgium, was lead guitar player in a funk/soulrock band that was awarded a silver medal in Humo’s Rock Rally 1994.

During his career Luc gained experience as a live music performer and also as a studio guitarist in numerous projects, in different genres of music and performed live on national and international stages such as Headroom Turnhout, JazzKitchen Festival Oud Turnhout, Jazz In Hasselt/Hasselt In The Mood, Schouwburg ‘t Schaliken Herentals, Bourlaschouwburg Antwerp, Phil’s Jazz Kitchen Brussels, Melkweg Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Woordfees Festival Stellenbosh (South Africa), Rock Am Wald Festival Frankfurt (Germany), and on the cruise ship ‘The Pride of York’ P&O North Sea Ferries, from Zeebrugge to Hull (United Kingdom).

At present, Luc has a pleasant, solo guitar repertoire that brings life to quiet events. His jazzfunk trio is ideal for more lively and bigger events, such as festivals, artistic music cafés, parties, receptions. Luc Van Steenbergen is a recording artist who records and releases original compositions under his own name.

With a keen interest in music and the arts in general, Luc promotes a vision that transcends boundaries between the different genres, cultures and creative arts and it is this passion that has profoundly influenced his style of guitar playing, which is inspired by guitarists such as Mark Knopfler, David Gilmour, Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, John Scofield, Mike Stern, Frank Zappa, George Benson, Wes Montgomery.
